Job Summary SCLS seeks an experienced Secretary/Receptionist for its Charleston office. Under the general supervision within South Carolina Legal Services, the secretary/receptionist performs clerical, receptionist, and typing task of moderate difficulty and subject matter diversity.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of secretarial experience, preferably in a legal setting or closely related field
  • Graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalency and 2 years of the qualifying experience; or
  • Satisfactory completion of post-high school course work from an accredited program of secretarial, business or a closely related curriculum may be substituted for the required experience
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented
  • Great typing and filing skills
  • Proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office Professional 2013, and Adobe
  • Must have excellent communication skills (oral, written and interpersonal skills)
  • Must have good telephone skills
  • Experience on a multi-line phone system and customer service helpful
  • Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends
  • Good driving record
