Job SummarySCLS seeks a Migrant Paralegal. Under the supervision of farmworker attorneys, this position will perform outreach and paralegal work in the areas of migrant and seasonal agricultural farmworker law and representation of these workers on matters of varying scope and complexity. The person in this position will work closely with migrant staff. The position requires some evening, weekend and overnight work to successfully reach the target groups. Statewide travel is involved. The Migrant Paralegal may also perform paralegal, clerical, and/or administrative support work of varying scope and complexity as required under the supervision of an attorney.

Minimum Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree or an Associate’s degree; or
  • A certificate of completion/graduation from an accredited paralegal program; or
  • At its discretion, SCLS may accept candidates with certain work experience in lieu of the foregoing educational credentials, but may further insist that satisfactory progress be displayed to complete the educational requirements by any such employee who has been allowed to substitute work experience for education
  • A valid driver’s license and a good driving record as use of organization vehicles may be required
  • Possess the cultural sensitivity for establishing a rapport with an ethnically diverse target client population
  • Fully proficient in written and spoken English and Spanish
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 2016, Microsoft Office 365, and SharePoint

  • Must be able to travel, especially statewide
